Infrared Photography

This gallery shows a selection of Mike Finley's monochrome infrared photographs. Mike finds the different tonal scales given by infrared film interesting. The photographs here were taken using the Konica 750 film, which gives a different effect from the more commonly used Kodak equivalent. The main distinguishing features of infrared landscape photography are a lightening in tone of foliage (which can be substantial depening on lighting and time of year) and a reduction in the effect of atmospheric haze (so distant features appear clearer).

Sadly, the Koniac film Mike prefers is no longer available, and he is still trying to find a suitable alternative.
