... all the latest information and updates about Mike Finley and the efikim website!
The Rogue Gene Collective is a small group of artists who are committed to helping each other attain a higher level of visibility for their work by pooling resources, information, knowledge and contacts. There are seven full time members and a handful of guests. As well as being artists, all members agree to be agents, couriers and publicists for the other members.
The members are deliberately chosen to be different in locale, gender, education, artistic genre and preferred technique, and so offer a wide variety of quality original artwork to the collector, occasional buyer or corporate buyer.
Mike Finley is proud to be associated with this venture both as guest photographer and webmaster.
The choice of infrared film is much reduced today compared to what was available only a couple of years ago. Ilford no longer manufacture SFX, and Agfa and Konica no longer manufacture any film. The choice now is between Kodak and Rollei, with only the Rollei film available in a range of sizes from 35mm to 5x4. (No, Rollei don't really make their own film, but they market the films formerly marketed by Maco.)
The Kodak infrared film doesn't match my requirements, so I've recently purchased some of the Rollei film, and started doing some basic tests (though its not the best time of year to do this!).
My preliminary results are published on my Maco/Rollei infrared film test page.
Finally, after more than three years, the Efikim website gets a facelift!
The site has been rewritten to use a modern content management system (‘Etomite’) with a modified photo gallery to suit my needs here. It also gets more modern styling, and now conforms to current standards.
